Why exactly are the element color templates being used for general color templates? I'll give you an example of why this is bad:

Say that one day, we decide that whenever there is fire text, it should appear in italics and have a fire icon with a link to the element page after the text (I know it's unlikely, but it's just an example, go with it). Given this situation, if you had used the {{tl|Fire}} template irresponsibly on everything that was red and bolded, you'd have to go back and change all those pages in order to update for the new formatting.

If we're going to use templates for all colored text, let's create a template similar to [[wikipedia:Template:Fontcolor|Fontcolor]] and use that instead (maybe even add a
#switch
so the element colors are accepted or you can opt for bold as well). ~ [[User:Karuberu|Karuberu]] 18:51, 10 July 2007 (CDT)

So is there no way in which I can edit the font type? I want to change a few words from the standard wiki font to "Courier New" to show it is a command. Such as msconfig. --Drow 16:21, 11 November 2006 (EST)

Ah found it on google somewhere: msconfig It works :D --Drow 09:47, 13 November 2006 (EST)

Shouldn't the Sandbox link actually link to the Wiki Sandbox instead of that deambig page? Just a thought. Kenada 23:00, 7 December 2006 (EST)

Hi I'm trying to save room (condense stuff) on my User page, and I see on other pages that people have sections where there are two columns on one part and a full length section of another part. I've tried to figure out the column code but everytime I try it doesnt work out. Could someone help me? Thank You - Demigoddess 19:23, 22 March 2007 (EDT)

 • I have the same problem as you, could someone add a column guide in the editing guide or something please? :) XsiX 19:18, 26 March 2007 (EDT)

Well, I'm not writing it out again ;). Check out the explaination in the FFXIclopedia:How to use the Item Template and other useful Editing Tips. --Chrisjander 21:37, 26 March 2007 (EDT)

Sources and References

Shouldn't there be some emphasis on having sources and references when adding/editing info? (Seems to be a Wiki thing; on Wikipedia, they often mark passages with "reference needed".) Currently, a recent edit on Cover has me scratching my head on why someone changed duration from 0:15 to 0:30 without leaving a single word on where he found that info. Would be nice if people make it a habit to link to references. =/ --Itazura 16:58, 6 June 2007 (CDT)

If major changes are made to something that has been in place for a long time, they should put something in the talk page discussing why it was changed. They didn't do so and since there has been response that it shouldn't of been changed it can be reverted back with a {{verification}} flag. --Wayka †Talk† 17:09, 6 June 2007 (CDT)
Discussion is nice, but I think this Editing Guide needs to make clear that users should cite evidence supporting their statements and edits, whenever possible.
A related issue: source and citation for information, on the main page. This doesn't seem to be a practice here, but perhaps it should be encouraged? Take Wikipedia's Mobile Suite Gundam: The 08th MS Team entry's References section, for example. --Itazura 18:33, 6 June 2007 (CDT)
