Cackle: Area of Effect Magic Attack, Magic Defense, and Magic Accuracy Down.
Bilgestorm: Area of Effect physical damage that reduces Attack, Defense, and Accuracy. Absorbable by 3 Utsusemi shadows. Can be used at any time, although this attack seems to be more often triggered by Dvalinn absorbing an attack. This ability has a long usage time, providing it nearly 10 seconds of physical damage absorption.
Absorbs physical damage while readying/using a TP ability.
Absorbs magic damage while casting.
Takes approximately 1/4 magical damage.
May cast spells immediately after using certain TP abilities.
When Dvalinn absorbs any attack, it often causes it to continue to use more TP abilities (and therefore, more spells) immediately until the absorbed attacks are halted. When in this state, Dvalinn tends to favor using abilities/spells with longer readying/usage times, such as Bilgestorm and -ga III nukes, to prolong the periods in which it can absorb damage.
Magic Defense Down from Cackle is a potential threat, nearly doubling damage taken from nukes and Hellclap. It may be advisable to stop TP feed when Cackle is used until the effect is removed.
Casting Sacrifice along with Afflatus Solace is an efficient way of removing the effects of Cackle and Bilgestorm.
In Norse mythology, Dvalin is a dwarf who appears in several Old Norse tales and kennings. The name translates as "the dormant one" or "the one slumbering" (akin to the Danish and Norwegian "dvale", meaning "sleep", "unconscious condition"). Dvalin is listed as one of the four stags of Yggdrasill in both Grímnismál from the Poetic Edda and Gylfaginning from the Prose Edda.
