Notes:

  • How To Spawn
  • Head into the center section and then north at the top of I-9 on the first map. This will take you onto the second map, the one with the other exit to Rolanberry Fields. If you look on this map you will see a small southern niche that you want to go to at H-9.
  • Once you make it to the niche, face west and you'll see a ??? that spawns the Dreadbug when selected. The Dreadbug is basically an overgrown Soldier Crawler, with about 40% more hitpoints and damage than a Soldier in Crawler's Nest. It has approx. 5000 HP.
  • The Dreadbug will drop 1-4 copies of the Giant Shell Bug.
  • Dreadbug likes to buff often so having a dispeller is recommended.
  • Dreadbug can be spawned by the person with the quest open once every Vana'diel day.
  • If you spawn it on one game day, but finish killing it on the next game day, you can still respawn it. You'll just have to wait a little bit.
  • Says "Nothing seems to happen" when you have to wait, but can still spawn it during the current game day.
  • Says "It seems that nothing will happen yet" when you have to wait until the next game day to spawn another one.
  • If multiple people have the quest, it can be spawned multiple times on the same game day with a short wait period in between.
