Dark Kindred

The Dark Kindred is a shadowy force based in the Northlands, popularly believed to have been summoned by the Shadow Lord from the underworld. Prior to the outbreak of the Crystal War, they clashed with the Orcish empire in the frozen north, soon defeating the Bloodwing Horde and captured their leader, Kingslayer Doggvdegg. The orcs joined under the Shadow Lord's banner, and Doggvdegg eventually became a commander of the Orcish Hosts. Along with the Quadav Shieldwarriors and Yagudo Theomilitary, they established the Beastman Confederate.

During the Crystal War, the Dark Kindred oversaw the war effort from Castle Zvahl. In addition to supervising the beastmen forces, they sent elite troops to the battlefield, led by commanders such as the fomor sorceress Shadowhand and the Shadowhorn taurus, as well as recruiting freelances such as the undead, former San d'Orian king Raigegue R d'Oraguille, and the gigas mercenary Eurytos. They also train and loan out units of Imp scholars to assist in defending confederate held territory by healing and enhancing fellow beastmen forces.

With the Shadow Lord's defeat and the dissolution of the Beastman Confederate, the Kindred disappeared. In recent time, however, they've returned to Castle Zvahl and began to dominate the forsaken Valdeaunia region. Whether this is connected to the rumors of the Shadow Lord's resurrection, and/or the sightings of the Dark Rider in the Near East, is unknown.

The Dark Kindred also appear in Dynamis, in the Dynamis - Xarcabard and Dynamis - Tavnazia areas. Unlike the normal Kindred, they appear in a diverse range of jobs like the Forlorn Vanguard and Hydra Corps.

Shadowfang	Shadowfang Void	Dark elementals, led by a Kindred Dark Knight Shadowfang uses Blood Weapon, and can drain HP, MP, or TP with melee attacks.
Shadoweye	Shadoweye Gnat	Gnat swarm, led by an Ahriman Black Mage Shadoweye specializes in high-level fire magic spells such as Firaga III.
Shadowwing	Shadowwing Infuriator	Gargouilles Responsible for Beaucedine Glacier (S). Shadowwing uses Manafont and casts various AOE enfeebling magic and nukes.
Shadowsoul	Shadowsoul Devourer	Dahaks, led by a Kindred Dark Knight Responsible for Xarcabard (S). Shadowsoul alternates between absorbing physical and magical damage, and casts Death.

N/A	Fiendish Leechkeeper	Imp physicians - Buffs and heals all beastmen in campaign, and does not engage in actual combat unless attacked. Only dispatched with another other unit (except the maintenance crews). When drawn into battle they do not casts any magic, just melee attacks and uses Abrasive Tantara and Deafening Tantara. Like regular imps, when their horn is broken they will use Frenetic Rip. This support unit sent out to aid all armies of the beastmen confederate to protect areas under their control.

Confederate Belfry	Allotaur	Tauri Emerges from a Confederate Belfry in Northland areas.
Siege Turret	Skeleton Escort	Siege Turret that appears in the battlefield once a sufficient technology level is attained. It heavily attacks fortifications and surrounding players and NPCs. Spawns Skeleton Escorts as reinforcements.
Confederate Mantelet	N/A	Every beastmen standing by a Mantelet will receive Regen, Refresh and Regain (3/tick for each) until stepping away from it.

Beastmen Freelances

The Allied Forces of Altana are not the only ones to recruit allies. The Beastmen Confederate also have their own swords for hire. These freelances usually appear in battles to assist units of the Dark Kindred and other units of the Beastman Confederate.

While Maruna-Kurina hints at the possibility of these freelances being able to be influenced by the Allied Forces, such a system is not currently in place.
