Notes:

  • Spawned by trading Floral Nectar to a ??? in Mamook at J-10 next to a tree. When checked the ??? says "A sickly-sweet fragrance pervades the air..."
  • Has similar Evasion and Defense to a Greater Colibri, but higher Attack and Hit Points.
  • Uses normal Colibri TP attacks: Feather Tickle, Pecking Flurry, and Snatch Morsel.
  • Has a permanent Chainspell effect. Instantly casts Tornado, Aero IV, Aeroga III, and Silencega.
  • When applicable, will not reflect the same spell he is hit with, but a spell one tier higher. (Casting Bio II on him causes him to reflect Bio III) But he will not reflect a higher tier spell that does not exist.
  • Is able to reflect Blue Magic.
  • He is unable to reflect the blue mage spell, Self-Destruct.
  • Uses an ability called Wisecrack that causes a short range AOE charm. Chamrosh will do this only once per battle, usually around 30% HP, though possibly as early as 45%. (Or sooner.)
  • After defeating Chamrosh, it is not necessary to wait before popping him again.
  • Also if your party wipes and you Reraise, he will not agro you. (We had people Raise in front of him and rest in front of him and he did not agro)
  • Ziz in the area will aggro a 75, by sight.
  • Approximatley 9,000HP.
  • Easily Done by a party of 6 (4SMN and/or BRD,RDM,and COR to keep MP up)
  • Summoners Must only use Garuda or Shiva since NM uses Wind base attacks is Very important that one melee since it can use Charm AoE but this will not affect pets!!

Historical Background

In Persian mythology, the Chamrosh was a giant bird with the head of a dog or in some accounts, a dog with the head and wings of a bird. It roosted at the base of the soma tree (the Simurgh had its nest in the tree’s branches). When seeds fell to the ground from this tree, the Chamrosh would gather the seeds and spread them all over the Earth. Like Simurgh, Chamrosh was immortal.
