Maybe add a bit on what exactly Garrison is, what happens when you participate, and what you can expect to get from it? I for one have never done it, but have been hard pressed to find anything explaining how to go about it. ~~Chrisjander
More details[]
I just wanted to get the table up there first. I thought that would be the most work. Time permitting, I will add a description to what garrison is, etc, unless someone else gets to it first. Ganiman
Hurray! Finally someone explains it for me, thank you ~~Chrisjander
Inaccurate[]
"The only thing that an outside player can do is kill other mobs in the zone. This can helpful when you need to eliminate mobs that will possibly link in with the Garrison mobs."
Mobs that are not part of the Garrison will not link or attack anyone involved in the Garrison event. Once the level cap is placed on you, you will not be attacked by any other mobs. Ganiman
Really?[]
I've read a number of reports saying otherwise. That they actually lost due to links...is this something they've recently changed?
"Also remember to clear the area of low lvl beastmen because they will link. " - Tarutinker [1]
"Outside help of any help is not allowed. If anything, you might want to ask non-participants to watch the area for linking Beastmen." - Golbez57 [2]
"the npcs tend to follow, and surprizingly actually aggro normal mobs in the area. the cast a lot of AOE on the mobs, and end up pulling in lizards and gobs in the area. it's really annoying. for success.. i would recommend having someone clear the area that will be kited to." - TJPoe20 [3]
" We also had a PLD/WAR in the upper 50s follow the kite around, killing anything that would link or aggro him." - pogle [4]
"As far as strategy, I would say bring somebody (or 2-3 people) 60+ that can clear out adds and distracting mobs from the area" - Mysterytour (Elshimo Lowlands Region) [5]
"This Garrison was EXTREMELY hard. Full alliance, 8 people died. 2 Carnivorous Crawlers, 2 Goobues, a Goblin, a Bogy, and a Water Elemental all aggro'd during the fight." - Mysterytour (Derfland Region) [6]
These are the only resons I added that to the page... :-/

Yes, really[]
Impressive research, but... [My Linkshell] just did Valkurm Dunes, and there were external gobbies mixed in, and I can confirm they did not link. It was actually a little confusing at one point, because I couldn't target the gobbie that got mixed in. I have also asked a number of other people about this and they agree that once you get your level capped in Garrison, there can be no external interfernece, wether it be from NPC or PC. Even after you complete the Garrison, you have your level cap on until you talk to the NPC (everyone has to talk to NPC when it's over). I couldn't engage another mob in the dunes until I lifted my level cap. It wouldn't make much sense that they could attack me, but I couldn't hit back. Ganiman
Edit: I have been told that the mobs will not link, but if you use AOE spells, you may hit an external mob causing it to aggro you. They do not link directly.
For the lower level Garrisons, as I have not done any higher level ones personally, I have recommended in this guide that AOE spells should not be used. This is another good reason to not use them, and I will include in the article. Thank you Rixie :D
Ahhh[]
Ohhhh...! That makes sense then. Thanks for explaining! ^_^ Silly people and their immediate conclusions... ::grumble grumble:: Hehe

Actually...[]
I just did a 20 cap Garrison in West Ronfaure. I was sleeping one of the Orcs away from the outpost, and a couple of times got a link from one of the wandering orcs in the area. Of course, they're very low level so I was able to beat them to death with my Monster Signa while keeping the Garrison mob asleep, but it was definitely a link; I wasn't doing anything except hitting my buddy with Lullaby every 30 seconds. --Valyana 22:10, 14 April 2006 (PDT)
There are links...[]
My LS performs Garrisons on a weekly basis and we have been doing them for over a year. We get all LS members that are Bastoken to go and farm a Galka Fang Sack for the Valkrum Dunes Garrison so that we can keep doing as many runs as possible. While our Bard kites he DOES get links and occasionaly calls for help from team members. The way we perform drops is one or 2 people collect all the items and sell on AH and then ditribute the Gill acordingly to how many Garrisons a member participated and wether or not they went to help with the farmming of Fang Sacks. Then with the pages and feet and legs we just let those drop out to whoever is lucky enough, because we useually end up with more then we need. Most people that participate end up with 800k or more not including legs and feet which go for 400k approx. that is on Gilgamesh server. We are the only LS that do this Garrison and we are the main suppliers all the items that drop from this event.
Oh Yes There Are Links[]
I did 3 runs of West Sarutabaruta garrison last night and was the kiter (war/bst) for all 3 runs. Each time I was kiting 2-4 Yagudo around the area. I tried to avoid the native Yagudo but each time I had more than a few links...without performing any action (AOE or otherwise) on them. --Quesse 12:02, 25 September 2009 (EDT)
Garrison and FoV / Treasure Caskets[]
Temporary items from Treasure Caskets can be used in Garrison, so load up! Really helped us out!
FoV Field Support can be used after initiating Garrison (and thus level sync). Auto Regen made kiting 4-5 Yagudo's a non-issue! --Quesse 12:02, 25 September 2009 (EDT)
Garrison Frequency[]
Hi... It may be in here somewhere, but I'd like to point out that the same person can not start a Garrison twice in the same conquest week. If you try the guard will say something about an attack being unlikely as you have driven them back recently.
Usually what Garrison LSs do is just have multiple members get the trigger item, so they can do it multiple times. --Chrisjander 09:13, 30 August 2006 (EDT)
I was just pointing it out as I hadn't realised.
I'm part of a part of a low level LS and so could get the items easiest solo, so ended up with a wasted get together as no other LS members attending were from the right home nation. --Barrington 09:26, 30 August 2006 (EDT)
This is written too much like a Guide[]
