Use of the Exclusive Template

Ok, so I noticed the Exclusive Template now includes [[Category:Exclusive]]. This is a good idea (I was actually going to suggest it back when we were discussing this category earlier), but now a bunch of non-item pages are in the Exclusive category because the template was used on those pages as well (which is the reason I decided not to suggest it).

Because of this, I think we should either refrain from using the template on non-item pages (and remove them from ones that already have them), change the template back to the way it was and manually put all the items into the category, or create a new template for pages that aren't supposed to be in the category (like {{ExclusiveNC}}, or something similar). It's not a big deal, but we should address it before too many false pages are placed into the category.

Other than the armor/weapon categories can you give an example? Or is that what you are referring to? --Gahoo 10:41, 9 August 2006 (EDT)

Yeah, I was mainly referring to the categories, though I'm fairly sure I saw some misplaced articles earlier (which aren't there anymore... has this been taken care of already?).

If you want, you can go to the non-item pages and change it from the template to the direct Image link --Chrisjander 13:28, 9 August 2006 (EDT)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, I just wanted to bring it up so people would stop using it on those pages (and so people know what the hell I'm doing to the pages).

Well IDC too much - but the reason I changed it to the rare/ex templates is because it makes the code look cleaner to someone adding new items. --Gahoo 13:36, 9 August 2006 (EDT)

Is there a way to force the category pages to not be included while still using the templates? Like a tag? --Gahoo 13:38, 9 August 2006 (EDT)

I don't think there is, but like I said earlier, we could make an alternate template without the "[[Category:Exclusive]]" line and use it in the pages you don't want to include in the category. ~ Karuberu 10:36, 10 August 2006 (EDT)
