Different Types

Noticing with Yaanei, Sippoy, and Kutharei some model differences for example Yaanei looks to have Hand to Hand traits on its weapon hands and head design whereas Kutharei has Axe hands. Since these guys are based on a Chess ancestor, maybe each "piece" has different damage types? --Ravenbe 14:59, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

I've noticed this as well, one of the reasons why I nicknamed this family the "Chess Peices" (yay for Mar references for anyone whose seen it); although it's mainly because I can't be bothered to spell or pronounce the word caturae. --Teiei 11:34, October 28, 2010 (UTC)

Then hopefully we will see a Piercing-type Catura. Can't wait to see what Raja looks like. :D --Eremes 04:43, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

Historical Background Sources
A lot of different entries for Catura here, but the ones that stick out are "Swift" and "Skilled at assuming different forms."
Here you can see Catura produces a few adjectives pertaining to cleverness/adeptness, and most notably "Coach," which overlaps with Iratham's definition in Tamil.

Family: Arcana

Killing Sippoy, DRK getting several intimidation procs and Arcane Crest landed. Unless others have to add to challenge, these mobs are of the arcane system.

Could you post a screenshot? --Eremes 05:10, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

Screenshot would be nice, but I'll take your word for it. Thanks for posting why they kept being called Arcana!--Blue Donkey Kong 20:20, January 2, 2011 (UTC)

not that it really helps, but as a BST with a Killer_Shortbow, and as all gear that has enhances killer effects gives all killer effects to wearer, I gain Arcana Killer (as well as the other three I am missing as BST), and I intimidated Rani while Brewing it. So it does confirm that Caturea fall into at least one of those 4 categories, and lore-wise it would most logically be ArcanaCraptaculous 18:18, February 28, 2011 (UTC)

TP move damage types

Dark Arrivisme - Physical, blocked by Fanatics. Malign Invocation - Physical, blocked by Fanatics. Stygian Cyclone - Magic, absorb magic damage atma absorbed it. (Could be remembering wrong, but pretty sure fanatics blocked it too, but had an absorb using Despot atma.) Unsure on Interference, never used it while I have fanatics/fools up. --Sakuraryong 13:50, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

Fanatic's Drink blocks lots of magic TP moves (for example: Hurricane Wing, which is clearly reduced in damage by Shell), dispite it giving Physical Shield; it's not a good way of determining if a TP move is physical or magical. The best way to tell would be if Physical damage taken-% gear lowers the damage, or by looking at the damage done to an avatar, since they have a native PDT-50%. --Kyrie 02:31, February 5, 2011 (UTC)
