New Attachments

No one's found the new attachments yet? I guess it's another craft only. Chernabog 10:44, 25 July 2006 (EDT)

Taken from KI;

Tension Spring II Enhances attack

Attuner Enhances attack against strong enemies

Loudspeaker II Enhances magic attack

Tactical Processor Decreases decision-making time, but increases the tendency to overload

Accelerator II Enhances evasion

Drum Magazine Sacrifices accuracy for speed in ranged attacks

Armor Plate II Enhances defense

Equalizer Reduces damage received according to damage taken

Stabilizer II Enhances accuracy

Target Marker Enhances accuracy against strong enemies

Mana Jammer II Enhances magic defense

Mana Channeler Increases magic recast time in exchange for increased magic attack

Auto-Repair Kit II Increases HP Adds "Regen" effect to Light Maneuver

Eraser Erase enfeebling and maneuver effects

Mana Tank II Increases MP Adds "Refresh" effect to Dark Maneuver

Smoke Screen Decreases accuracy, increases evasion

Not sure which is all what, or how much slots each take (elementally speaking). Chernabog 09:23, 28 July 2006 (EDT)

I can confirm that Loud Speaker II, Tension Spring II, and Mana Tank II all drop from Hilltroll Puppetmasters. Tension Spring II and Mana Tank II cost 3 of the matching element, I lost the lot on the Loud Speaker II. --Nobodyreal 00:02, 29 July 2006 (EDT)

Heh. Just a random note. First few days of update the new attachments went on AH for 10k on Cerberus. Now they're 100-200k. haha. Time for an attachment farming pt. >.< Any word on the non "II"s and where they drop or crafted? I haven't seen anything on KI or somepage yet. (I refuse to check Alla, and I doubt they'd know even if I did) Chernabog 12:23, 29 July 2006 (EDT)
Is it confirmed the non IIs only drop from the ENM? Please say it ain't so! Chernabog 14:06, 29 July 2006 (EDT)
I thought I heard back when the update first happened rumour of attachments dropping in some ISNMs. Anyone have any information on this? Chernabog 20:20, 6 August 2006 (EDT)

Now that the Attachments lists have been altered a bit in their order, the first paragraph under Acquiring Attachments is all messed up ("The first two attachments listed under each element can be obtained from Yoyoroon..." even though in all the lists except Water, the second Attachment listed is the one that only drops from the troll PUP monster) - Hiachi 12:45, 8 August 2006 (EDT)

Equiping Attachments

One thing that would be nice to know: how do you access the Automation Equiping menu?

That's been in the Category:Automaton Attachments page ever since I added it (about three days after ToAU's initial release). I understand not everything is easy to find, but you're asking about how to do something on the Talk page of the very article that has the instructions you are asking for...please look harder - Hiachi 14:50, 27 July 2006 (EDT)

HAHA! At first I thought you were answering my question then I realized someone posted right under me with no line break or sig added. Heh. Anyways, divided question sections now. Still no word on new attachments? I know their names, but not what they all do. Chernabog 03:56, 28 July 2006 (EDT)
That was me who asked the original question, and I guess I should have been more precise. One finds the Automaton equipping menu in the Equipment category from the menu, but it isn't accessible via Ctrl-E. I'd actually read the explanation you'd provided, and it wasn't immediately clear to me that Ctrl-E would have a different behavior than selecting Equipment from the root user menu. (In other words, Ctrl-E brings one to the character's equipment menu, bypassing the player's.) --Pachichachi 06:55, 5 August 2006 (EDT)

I may amend the page to make that distinction clearer. Curious about the formatting on this page: Why is it that everything is crunched under one topic (like Fire/Ice, Wind/Earth, Thunder/Water, Dark/Light), as opposed to under their specific heading? Would make updating this page a LOT easier. I would do it, but I'm more afraid I'd mess everything up :P --KingOfZeal 20:22, 3 August 2006 (EDT)

If you want to play around with formatting, just copy and paste the text into the sandbox (after clearing it out) and have fun. You can't mess up there ^^ --Chrisjander 11:24, 6 August 2006 (EDT)

Reformatting done. Should be much easier to keep track of updates now. --Nobodyreal 08:33, 8 August 2006 (EDT)

<3 Nobodyreal. I tried, but I couldn't get it so the sections were layed out side-by side... I'm such a newb at wikis :P --KingOfZeal 10:37, 8 August 2006 (EDT)

I really wish we could macro the equipments, that would make it less of a pain to switch frames. Something like /equip pframe "Stormwaker Frame", /equip pbody "Valoredge Head", /equip attach1 "Shock Absorber", etc. That would be nice :/ - Hiachi 18:45, 10 August 2006 (EDT)

That would be nice, but with scripting programs available, it would make it very easy to exploit to an absurd degree. Imagine being able to deactivate your automaton, completely swap out the frame/attachments, and reactivate it all with the push of one button. --Nobodyreal 06:46, 11 August 2006 (EDT)

I see nothing wrong with that, if it's done in a situation that switching the parts manually would be allowed; the only difference is that the macro would speed up things, not offer an ability the player wouldn't have otherwise. - Hiachi 08:06, 11 August 2006 (EDT)

Prices are definitely down on my server on the type-II attachments that are exclusively dropped from the Hilltroll Puppetmasters. I picked a couple of the less valuable ones up for around 10K each last night. On a related note, it would probably be useful to include some information on where the Hilltroll Puppetmasters spawn, so anyone who is able to persuade a party to go hunt them can find them without too much trouble. The ENM drops are still another matter, though. There have only been 2-3 sales of each attachment, with prices running between 1-2 million gil. I'm guessing that the drop rates for the attachments are just as bad as the drop rates on all the other useful gear in this particular ENM fight. Compound that with the fact that we need 8 different attachments from it, and you're probably looking at a lot of solo ENM runs...

Odd... Could have sworn I'd signed the above paragraph... Also, it might be useful to provide a link to the Pulling the Strings ENM. There's mention of the ENM in the main paragraph, but there's no actual link at this time. --Althorn 16:35, 10 October 2006 (EDT)
