Superior Equipment

Superior Equipment is a class of craftable Weapons and Armor that require the jobs that can equip it meet a specified threshold of spent Job Points before the equipment can be worn. This is indicated after the in the item's infobox and will specify a tier from 1 to 5. Here are the Job Point Gift thresholds required to equip each tier of Superior Equipment:

• 50 - Superior 1 (Su1)
• 100 - Superior 2 (Su2)
• 500 - Superior 3 (Su3)
• 1200 - Superior 4 (Su4)
• 2100 - Superior 5 (Su5)

Superior 1 Equipment[]

The December 2014 Version Update introduced 3 sets of item level 119 craftable armor that requires crafting materials earned from Unity Wanted Notorious Monster Coffers. These three sets borrow their appearance from the legacy Chains of Promathia equipment introduced so players had something to wear in level 30 cap Promyvion zones.

Superior 2 Equipment[]

Superior 2 equipment comes in several flavors.

In the March 2015 Version Update brought the first set of Superior 2 equipment, with no real unifying theme to them apart from requiring crafting skill requirements over 110+

Blurred weaponry, introduced in the May 2015 Version Update, is all item level 119 and requires a chunk of Dark Matter, 2 chunks of Vulcanite Ore, a base weapon and high level Smithing to create. Besides the Harp and Shield, Blurred weaponry is notable for its Additional Effect: Haste attribute.

The August 2018 Version Update brought with it Su2 weapons named after their main high level ingredient, Hepatizon Ingots, Beryllium Ingots, Maliyakaleya Coral or Exalted Lumber. Introduced in the May 2017 Version Update, Superior 3 Armor Sets are item level 119 equipment made with materials found in Vagary and expensive crafting materials purchased from Guild Vendors. Crafting any Superior 3 items requires an Argentum tome earned by completing a Stage 4 Escutcheon from the corresponding guild

Raetic Equipment[]

Introduced in the September 2017 Version Update, Superior 3 Weapons are item level 119 weapons and armor that upgrade the old Rune Equipment obtainable from Strange Apparatuses scattered around the dungeons of Vana'diel. Much like their level 70 counterparts, Raetic equipment consumes the player's MP to provide an active benefit.
