The snapweed's method of predation consists of patiently waiting for their victims to crawl into the huge jar-shaped mouth formed by their foliage. Once they shut their leafy traps, there is no escape for their insectoid prey, but the digestive juices that churn violently inside their bulbous jaws have devastating effects on pioneers as well.
