Giant Bats

Giant Bats Like their smaller counterparts, these bats are found in nearly every area of Vana'diel – and at every level. Also like the trios of bats, these larger bats are trained by the Beastmen in Vana'diel to assist their masters. Unlike the bat trios, these bats are unable to unload with the same fury and damage. They are, however, able to enfeeble their attackers, lowering a party's attacks and defense. Also unlike the trios, they are able to both drain and aspir opponents, sometimes escaping defeat, albeit usually temporarily. Just like their smaller relatives, when defeated these bats will typically drop wings and fangs, and some will drop blood (such as Beastman Blood or Fiend Blood, or Dragon Blood), or keys (such as Grotto Chest Key or Pso'Xja Chest Key).
