Historical Background

Glenn is a character in the 1995 Squaresoft video game Chrono Trigger. He is a meek, weak swordsman from medieval times that accompanied the heroic knight Cyrus that was prophesied to defeat Magus, the leader of the Demons ("Mystics" in the original English translation). However, after a failed battle that left Cyrus dead, Magus cursed Glenn with the body of an anthropomorphic frog. Glenn adopted the pseudonym of "Frog" out of shame for his failure and perceived weakness.

"Brave Hero" is a reference to the failed prophecy of Cyrus, the Hero's Medal artifact that allegedly signified his role in the prophecy, and Glenn/Frog's thematic arc of self-forgiveness in order to overcome his weakness and become a hero.
