Rolanberry Fields NMs

Notes:

  • Like Leaping Lizzy this NM has two placeholders. Also meaning this NM can pop twice in one night, even back to back, but never at the same time. Probably north and south Midnight Wings but it's best to just kill all (about 5-6) Midnight Wings on this tier
  • Lottery Spawn off of the Midnight Wings in Brutus's Field on the second tier, around (I-9)/(I-10). Second tier means you have to go up two times from regular level (floor 0)
  • Can repop on the next night after the previous one was killed (no repop timer)
  • On Wide Scan appears between 2 Ochu (on top) and 3 Berry Grub (below)
  • Killing this NM is required to complete the quest The Miraculous Dale.
  • This is the target NM for Trial of the Magians, Trial 3 for dagger.
  • If you have The Miraculous Dale logged, one kill will fulfill both the DALE quest as well as one Trial of the Magians objective.
  • Midnight Wings spawn at 18:00 and despawn at 6:00, repopping every 270 to 330 seconds (~2 hours game time). Black Triple Stars cannot spawn in the first wave of pops, which means that killing optimally and getting lucky you still only have 4 or 5 PH repops per hour. This means that the NM has an Outside-NM probability of replacing its PH with inside-NM repop rates of its PH (~4-5/hr). It is a hard NM to camp, and this is why it is hard.

Post June 2010 Update Notes:

  • Respawn Time can be immediate, so long as the placeholders are being killed; however, it can only spawn from 20:00 - 6:00.
  • Placeholder confirmed to spawn at 20:00 and despawn at 6:00.
  • May spawn at 20:00 instead of a Placeholder on the East edge of the line between (I-9)/(I-10) on the 2nd Tier as long as all Berry Grub and Goblins have been cleared from the area.
  • Midnight Wings spawn more frequently when Berry Grub and Goblins on Tier 2 are killed as they share spawn locations. This makes all Berry Grub and Goblins in the area problematic, as they all become a Placeholder for the Placeholder.
  • Let there be a STRONG emphasis on respawn "can be" immediate. This ultimately means that it "can," but most likely WILL NOT. In 10+ windows of camping this NM, I've only ever seen it pop once in a window, and always after 00:00 (around 01:00-02:00). This doesn't negate the testimonials of people seeing it at 20:00, or those that were miraculously fortunate enough to see it 2+ times in a window, however. This is an extremely annoying NM to camp and I strongly believe that it's pop conditions are not clearly verified, if at all. Placeholders seem like the most agreed upon conclusion, though. -FTW, I was killing what was stated on this page, sometimes everything, sometimes the whole field (every tier) with many friends, and we have seen the NM pop twice, in 10 windows. Good luck campers and get ready for some fun ~

Historical Background

These NMs are named for the Black Tri-Stars, a famous trio of enemy Mobile Suit pilots from the 1979 animated TV series Mobile Suit Gundam, an incredibly popular and influential anime.

Note that, in this TV series, these three pilots were known for using their famous "Jet Stream Attack;" one of the more dangerous and well known Bat Triple attacks is called "Jet Stream."
