**Each party member must receive this cutscene prior to the upcoming fight to receive credit for this mission.

**If you kill Count Halphas, the rest of the enemies will despawn.
* After the cutscene, check the Regal Pawprints again to start the fight.

**This is similar to The Long March North quest for Windurst Waters (S) in that the fight will start right after you check the Regal Pawprints and having instant aggro on a player.

* After the fight, check the Regal Pawprints for another cutscene.

* After the fight, check the Regal Pawprints for another cutscene.
**If you zone before checking the Regal Pawprints the demons will respawn and must be fought again.

Fight
* Enemies: 4 Dark Demons and Count Halphas.

** You only need to kill Count Halphas and the rest will depop.

** All enemies have enmity to the person who starts the encounter.

* EXP is lost upon death.

* Buffs and TP are not lost.

*Do not get Campaign Tags for this fight.

** When you cast Sleepga, it will only hit the selected target if tags are on. By not having the tags, Sleepga works as normal.

* Anyone not on this mission can still help on this fight.

* The wandering mobs around the pawprints can aggro.

* Be careful! If you decide to sleep the surrounding Dark Demons, they will wake up whenever Halphas casts a spell!

Strategies
The encounter can be completed with as few as 1 and as many as a full alliance.

* PLD/RDM + WHM/RDM Duo

Tried doing WHM RR sacrifice technique, but the demons didn't depop. PLD ended up having Count + the demons and a random eye aggro on him, but lived. Was able to toss him some cures while weakened, but didn't really need it.

* Solo

** Easily Soloed by 99DRK/49BLM --Zoecarmina (talk) 03:17, May 5, 2014 (UTC)

** RDM99/DNC49 Very easily soloed wearing a +1 Augmented Skirmish sword and 3 pieces of Gendewitha augmented Skirmish gear Head, Hands, and Feet, and two Empy +2 pieces Body, and Legs. Did not use Sleepga the whole fight, and did not pull mobs from pop site. Went into fight fully buffed with Composure, Refresh, Protect V, Shell V, Phalanx, Stoneskin, Haste, Temper, Enthunder II, Ice Spikes, Aquaveil, Blink, and Gain-VIT. Fought and killed Count Halphas while the other demons hit me in the back. I took no damage the whole fight and the fight took about 3-4 minutes. Once Count Halphas was defeated the demons fell and de-popped. Dragonspirit, Bismarck, 10-10-13

** RDM90/BLM45: Put up Composured buffs, pop and pull all mobs to Campaign tower where teleport NPC resides whilst area is under beastman control (this is to ensure undisturbed fight, you can use some other spot to fight). You can open pull with Sleepga so that only Count Halphas follows you. Movement+ is helpful here, but not necessary, just run to your camp avoiding links. If something linked, use Retrace scroll or NPC and come back. Mobs go back to pop spot and don't depop for several minutes, so you can retry pull opening with Sleepga.<br>

** When at camp you can meele (dagger or sword) Count Halphas and reapply Sleepga on demons whenever they wake up. I full timed PDT gear (33%) and interrupted Count Halphas castings with Stun or Break (didn't resist even once without any gear swaps). Keep Slow, Addle and Dia on Count Halphas and Phalanx, Aquaveil, Ice Spikes, Stoneskin, Barblind, Haste, Refresh II and Enspell on you. Fight took maybe 10min and as long as you don't allow pets to cast nukes on you (keep them sleeped) and interrupt Count Halphas it's surprisingly easy. Zirael

**90BLU/RDM: Buffed completely and got TP prior to fight. As soon as it started, targeted Count Halphas (the red one), whirl of rage + sleepga. Immediately used CDC + Cont for Distortion SC. This left the main NM at less than 50% health. Followed up with a few other melee spells and it went down before any shadows or stoneskin were taken down.

*Won as 90rdm/blm & 90sam/dnc duo. Fight took maybe 3 minutes with an NQ emperyean GK equipped sam. Sleepga does not last long even with near capped enfeebling skill and emperyean +1 armor. Even with ES. I think the rdm above is either lucky, not completely explaining the battle, or making it up because the mobs all seems to favor ga3's and tier 4's in a consecutive manner. - Keeley, Phoenix. 8/7/2011.

*Soloed as 90MNK/45DNC. Fight took about 7 minutes. Built up to 100%TP on mobs around the pop. Popped the Demons and immediately pulled them to the ramp nearby to avoid any aggro and to make lining them up for countering easier. Used Counterstance and popped Perfect Counter whenever possible. Full-timed a semi-evasion set (+55 evasion, +10 evasion skill) and continuously countered any attacks from the regular Dark Demons. Maintained steps and used Violent Flourish on all of the main boss's spells. The only point that I ran into issues was when I decided to Weaponskill and didn't have the TP to cure myself at the end. As long as you are patient, the fight is a joke. - Ukiyasan, Bahamut. 8/10/2011.

* Solo'd as a NIN99/DNC49. Failed on the first attempt when I picked each off one by one due to some -ga spamming. Decided to grab some carbonara and try again, this time concentrating on the Count so I could interrupt his casts. Succeeded with only one close call towards the beginning when he caught me with a Firaga. Easily interrupted with melee attacks, though. --Ceolwulf 03:45, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

* Tank + Sleeper

** Sleeper must be the person who pops the mobs. Have stoneskin, blink, haste, and anything else you need ready to go - including Elemental Seal.

***Note: Elemental Seal BEFORE you pop the mob. Then Sleepga and hit the retrace scroll or spell.

** The second the mobs appear, cast Sleepga II and the tank/puller of the Count must be able to stun the Count (shield bash worked beautifully) because the Count will immediately begin casting a spell. If he casts before the Sleeper manages to Retrace, the demons will all wake back up and attack.

** Sleeper teleports back to the C.A and help the Tank fight Count Halphas.

***Another possible ploy, is for blm/sch and use manifestation + Break. Altho immune to sleep, the count does not appear to be resistant to Break, having petrifed him a few times during a fight i helped on.

* Sacrifice Pull

** This mission can be defeated simply with a Tank & Friend fighting Count Halphas, and a 3rd person (any job) popping the mobs and dying to despawn them while Tank pulls the Count. This is the exact same strategy as above only doesn't require a sleeper!
