Since Beastmasters can solo throughout their entire career, the question that is most often asked is "Where can I go at level X". This document is here to try and answer that question.
Levels 1-10
Levels | Area | Pets | Prey | Additional Info |
---|---|---|---|---|
1-10 | Starting Areas | Everything | Everything | This is a good time to practice charming and learning about the mobs. Selbina Milk helps lessen downtime. Be sure to remember Beastmen can't be charmed! |
8-13 | Tahrongi Canyon |
When leveling here, just remember the Beast Strength Chart and charm Even Matches when you can. | ||
9-14 | La Theine Plateau |
Akbaba |
Rock Eater |
When levelling here, just remember the Beast Strength Chart and charm Even Matches when you can. At level 11 head to (E-7) with a Strolling Sapling pet, Steppe Hare prey are plentiful and provide a good amount of EXP. |
9-11 | Konschtat Highlands |
Rock Eater |
When levelling here, just remember the Beast Strength Chart and charm Even Matches when you can. |
Levels 11-20
Levels | Area | Pets | Prey | Additional Info |
---|---|---|---|---|
11-14 | Konschtat Highlands |
When leveling here, just remember the Beast Strength Chart and charm Even Matches when you can. | ||
14-16 | Tahrongi Canyon |
Wild Dhalmel |
Wild Dhalmel |
Undead will block your access to Akbabas during nighttime hours. Most of the dhalmel are still Tough at 14. |
12-16 | Inner Horutoto Ruins |
Go through the "cracked wall" in (G-8) and then on the new map go to (I-9). Can be a difficult spot (close quarters, all mobs agro/link and a longish run to the zone). Rarely camped. Bats are bat trios. | ||
15-18 | Valkurm Dunes |
Star Bat only pops at night but can hold their own against the goblins. | ||
15-18 | Buburimu Peninsula |
|||
15-20 | Pashhow Marshlands |
Be careful using a WHM subjob during weather effects - elementals spawn and travel across almost the entire map. | ||
16-19 | Carpenters' Landing |
Digger Wasp |
Camp near the Northern San d'Oria zone. Do not attempt Glide Bombs until at least level 18 (some VT-IT at 16/17) and if possible, save the strongest pets for them. Bats only pop at night. Save pugils for orcs if possible. | |
17-20 | Jugner Forest |
Camp near the lake in the northwest. If you're using Snippers as prey, watch out for Metallic Skin and Scissor Guard - they may make the fight extremely difficult to finish. Also, watch out for the undead that spawn between 20:00 and 4:00. | ||
18-20 | Maze of Shakhrami |
|||
18-21 | Ordelle's Caves |
Stink Bats |
Snipper |
Bear west as you enter Ordelle's and follow the path around to the camp. There are second tier goblins all along the path, so either fight your way there or take Prism Powders with you. |
18-22 | Meriphataud Mountains |
Camp around the outpost. Mobs here are fairly spread out, you'll be running back and forth a lot. | ||
19-25 | Jugner Forest |
Charm a leech and primarily kill funguars along the main road. Leeches are charm-resistant, but have incredibly high longevity. Note: At 19, most of the pets will be Tough. It may be better to wait until 20, or even 21. | ||
20-23 | Valkurm Dunes |
Brutal Sheep |
Camp along the secret beach (B-7). The sheep of course have their AoE sleep, so be careful with your enmity. A slept pet can mean a dead master during an unfortunate target shift. | |
20-23 | Buburimu Peninsula |
Carnivorous Crawler |
Camp near the beach west of Mhaura, or on the east side of the map | |
20-23 | Pashhow Marshlands |
Camp in the northwest portion of the map |
Levels 21-30
Levels | Area | Pets | Prey | Additional Info |
---|---|---|---|---|
22-25 | Maze of Shakhrami |
|||
23-26 | Valkurm Dunes |
Main focus is goblins. Save even match pets for bombs if possible. | ||
23-26 | Batallia Downs |
|||
23-26 | Ordelle's Caves |
|||
26-27 | Qufim Island |
You can stay in the first clearing, and on the northeast side. One Clipper can not two worms. Also, watch for aggro from Giants, Evil Weapons, and Wights (night only). You may stall out the wights by tossing bats at them, and it is a waste to charm a T bat. | ||
25-28 | Rolanberry Fields |
Berry Grub |
You can stay (F-7). This is a decent camp, but really easy to get fatal hate from Goblins or Morbol leaving you in the middle of nowhere, and there is a long run to zone to Lower Jeuno. XP with care, or stick to Qufim Island. | |
26-32 | Maze of Shakhrami |
Ancient Bat 26-29 |
Goblin's Bat 24-26 |
Enter from Buburimu Peninsula @ F-6 - you need to approach from the East which will bring you into the Maze of Shakhrami @ M-10 and almost at camp! Initially, camp at the zone till you get the hang of it, then move down to the first large room (M-8 where the gobs are) and have at it from the tunnel. There is a second tunnel to your left with a couple more bats.
This is an all-aggro camp - even the pets aggro and link so take care! |
27-31 | Qufim Island |
Greater Pugil |
It will be mostly Pugil on Gigas or Bat on Wight action. Do not melee the Wights. |
Levels 31-40
Levels | Area | Pets | Prey | Additional Info |
---|---|---|---|---|
30-33 | Yuhtunga Jungle |
Yuhtunga Mandragora |
Mandragora make great pets at any level. Mandy vs. Mandy will lead to some longer fights but with /whm help a DC mandy can take out a EM/T with little trouble. Watch out for Mandy sleepga; your pet will be dead before you wake up if solo. Dropped Goblin Bombs and Final Sting make those harder fights worth their exp chains. Exp pts can make these camps a tough fight for pets/prey. Nice place to duo bst party in lower 30's. Opo-opo's are possible but usually more trouble than they are worth in exp. | |
30-33 | Carpenters' Landing |
Stay out near the docks of South Landing. Birdtraps don't aggro or link, so pick your target carefully. Save Even Match pets for Spunkies. Beware of the seasonal Water Elemental. | ||
32-34 | Qufim Island |
Gigas |
Leeches are your best friend. | |
32-34 | Eastern Altepa Desert |
Start near Korroloka Tunnel entrance and move out from there slowly. No aggro from beetles, spiders or dhalmels. | ||
33-37 | Gusgen Mines |
Go here and fight Feu Follet. These are bombs and use self-destruct. Stand clear and don't worry about pet being alive at end of fight. Dangerous place to XP but 200+ chains are the reward. Also beware of the NM Juggler Hecatomb that spawns in the room as well as Thunder and Earth elementals; extra caution if subbing White Mage. | ||
34-36 | Lufaise Meadows |
Tier 4 Orcs |
By the lake. Beware of Thunder Elemental pops. Pets do not aggro. The Bugards also make decent prey, make sure to let the sheep keep hate, will require a pet swap. All pets will check Tough at level 33, best to start this camp at level 34. | |
34-36 | Bibiki Bay |
Great place to level if you don't like the aggro in Gusgen. 34 will be on the docks, Eft vs. Eft. Once you have leave at level 35, more of the wildlife will be EM to you. None of your pets aggro, but they do link, so have fun levelling off the gobbies and wildlife. If in a duo you can do Ravens. | ||
36-40 | Sea Serpent Grotto |
Undead Bats |
Leeches are amazing lil' creatures. One should be enough per fight. A DC leech will tear apart T Undead Bats with ease. At level 36-37, stick to leeches, bats and Sahagins. 38-40 stay around (F-7) and fight Ghast with the large supply of Royal Leech! Oozes are even match starting at 39 but harder to charm. Pet swaps are often required at the F-7 camp. *Note: Depending on the RMT activity on your server the leeches may be farmed heavily making for a shortage of pets when fighting Ghasts. | |
39-41 | Yhoator Jungle |
Camp at (H-8) on the west side of the circular track with the north-south slice through the middle. This is one of those camps that is a bit rough to start off in. Basic tactic is to throw wasps at the goblins until they die or blow up. It will take multiple wasps per goblin. You'll mostly be fighting the Goblin Reapers here. There are Dark Knight type mobs, so watch out for the usual stuff and Absorb-CHR. Don't engage and use Blink or Utsusemi as often as you can. Ninja sub probably better here, but I did it with White Mage sub. Don't fall off the left side of the circular track, there is a drop down at the southern end that leads to the other side. I avoided the other side due to the BST type goblin with bee pet. | ||
40-43 | Yuhtunga Jungle |
Two locations, one by the Southeast corner (H-11/I-11) zone to Yhoator Jungle and one in the open areas on the west side. Great XP. For the best xp stick to killing poachers, it will take 1 em crawler to take out a tough to VT poacher. The Robber and Reaper hit much harder so it will take atleast 2 pets to defeat. The area close to zone has a bomb spawn, this bomb will chew throu dc-em crawlers, best bet is to kill the gobs then take out the bomb, since you will need to swap pets atleast 2 times. |
Levels 41-50
Levels | Area | Pets | Prey | Additional Info |
---|---|---|---|---|
41-43 | Crawler's Nest |
Caveberries do link on sound, but two of the pets you can use have natural plantoid Killer. Mayfly and Diremite familiar pets also work great. If Worker Crawler is your prey make sure to use lizard pets. Let pets do the dirty work, saplings got an AOE sleep move. Some of the pets are even match starting at 40 but most of them will be Tough, so best to wait till 41. | ||
41-43 | Garlaige Citadel |
Siege Bat |
Very nice EXP, be careful as Puroburos will aggro magic, even if you're not in the room, and Fallen Evacuees will aggro HP just as easily. Safer to use bats as pets against bombs, beetles, and undead. If you try to fight bats vers bats you will stand a far higher chance of a link and death. And the bats make very good pets. | |
41-45 | Western Altepa Desert |
Fight outside the Rabao zone (K-5) | ||
45-47 | Yhoator Jungle |
By the SW zone to Yuhtunga Jungle. More great gobbie XP. Be careful if charming Young Opo-Opo, they are strong and are fairly hard to charm. The best camp seems to be at F-10, there are two Young Opo-Opo, as well as some crawlers behind that camp. E-11 is where the zone is, so if you get in trouble you know where to run. Also beware of the Anemone, he roams near that camp, so prob best to bring some silent pots (unless you're subbing /whm or /rdm) and have your pet pull. | ||
46-49 | Gustav Tunnel |
Labyrinth Leech |
Goblin Poacher |
Go to the large room where Bune spawns. When he is not around the area is great. In levels 48 to 49, you will most likely be fighting your way through decent challenges and even matches. Though there are few toughs rarely it's still very worth it and a lot easier then heading to Crawler's Nest or Labyrinth of Onzozo. This area can be good throu lvl 52 if you either grind throu DC mobs or start fighting the Goblin's Leech from the higher tier goblins. This can be very dangerous so be sure to keep reraise up when doing this. Make sure the goblin shepard is facing away from you and the leech before pulling it. Also a ranged weapon will make this much easier and safer. |
48-50 | Labyrinth of Onzozo |
Go to the passageway just past the first room when entering from Buburimu Peninsula. Watch out for Air Elemental. This area is more for the partying BST where as soloing can almost gaurentee a death at one point. Many goblins are crowded together in the room mentioned above so it's smart to have someone to watch your back. | ||
49-54 | Crawlers' Nest |
Labyrinth Lizard |
Labyrinth Lizard |
Go to the two rooms at H/I-8 and H-7 on this map. Lizards link and aggro and detect by sound. Pulling to the path connecting the two rooms is recommended. This place is aggravating when trying to pull so be very careful. Also this is a very difficult place to camp at level 49 because almost everything cons Tough at this camp. There is also the basement of Crawler's Nest where the Soldier Crawler is the perfect pet. Here you fight Exoray and Blazer Beetle. You should always have a Reraise item on you and at least two pets somewhere around you to use against these two. However, with the Hornfly, you just have to watch for aggro but other then that pretty good XP and a good spot to duo as well. |
Levels 51-60
Levels | Area | Pets | Prey | Additional Info | 50-54 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
51-53 | Sea Serpent Grotto |
Behind the Mythril Beastcoin door at J-5. Beware Hydro Shot - it resets hate. Convert the Sahagin Parasite to DC or EM before you start. 1 DC Sahagin Parasite will easily take out em or tough Sahagin. Watch out for Rock Crab, at lvl52 they are VT and require 2 Sahagin Parasite to defeat them | |||
53-55 | Bostaunieux Oubliette |
(F-10) on the map is a safe camp, two Dark Aspics spawn, as well as Werebats. The Dark Aspic does not despawn so keep the Dark Aspic near the second corner but not there, maybe in the middle away from the other Dark Aspic; so if you're fighting with your pet, and your prey is in low health, move away from the charmed Dark Aspic, near the haunt in the second corner not close, and leave. Good luck and safe hunting!
Note: Werebats do not link just aggro. Also jellies tend to discharm when fighting a VT, and hard to re-charm again, though with both Beast Gaiters and Beast Gloves, as well as the Charm boost from the Light Staff or Apollo's Staff, it tends to work out perfectly. Please remember to sneak up before entering. | |||
55-58 | Garlaige Citadel |
Hellmine |
Camp in the basement. Send beetles or bats against the VT and IT bombs, stay back, and let them Self-Destruct. Beware, they will often to +2000 damage if they Self-Destruct early in the fight, so be sure to stay out of range. Chains into 400+ exp are very doable solo at this level. | ||
55-58 | Toraimarai Canal |
Pull a Dark Aspic from the lower level areas to the Windurst Walls exit. | |||
57-58 | Quicksand Caves |
Antican Princeps |
There are three beetles that spawn soon as you walk into the (J-9) entrance from Western Altepa Desert. These three pets should be enough to kill all the Anticans you want, though there are a few more beetles in the large room down the ramp. Princeps can be a pain with their Cure IV spells so try to Silence them, though as BST, they are a bit resistant to the WHM subbed Enfeebling Magic. There is also the problem with Jamming Wave used by the Anticans, so bring a long plenty of Echo Drops. Most of the mobs around here range from DC to T so its not the best XP, but should hold you off for a little while if you don't have Toraimarai Canal access. | ||
58-61 | Uleguerand Range |
Prey is mostly Snoll at 58. Variable Hares don't link nor aggro, and is easy to charm T's. Once you hit 59, follow the right-hand wall at the zone until you get to the first tunnel entrance. There are two rabbits here, convert them to Even Match and kill everything else that moves. | |||
59-60 | Toraimarai Canal |
Make a zoo of Even Match Impish Bats and pull skeletons to Windurst Walls exit | |||
60-63 | Boyahda Tree |
Camp in the tunnels before the first pond. Spiders drop Boyahda Coffer Key for the map of the area. At 61 an Even Match Funguar will solo any Spider so think of this as aggressive Spider Web farming. |
Levels 61-70
Levels | Area | Pets | Prey | Additional Info |
---|---|---|---|---|
61-65 | Caedarva Mire |
Caedarva Leech [63-65] |
Marsh Murre [64-66] |
Use Sanction with Refresh for Refresh up to 65% that stacks with Gaudy Harness. West Nashmau exit. One leech pops very near the zone, another on the other end of the pond. Convert leeches to EM and alternate netween them. No chigoe from the zoneline to the start of the cemetary area. No aggro until the cemetary area. |
62-64 | Ifrit's Cauldron |
Depending on your Charm gear, opo-opo's will rock the bombs' worlds. Bring Pickaxes for the random Mining Point. | ||
62-63 | Sea Serpent Grotto |
Go past the Gold Beastcoin door in SSG. Hope and pray that one of the Mousse's is Decent Challenge or Even Match. Either way, bring your Light Staff and be prepared to kite the Slime when you mis-charm. Note: If the slime is NOT DC or EM, you can use a jug to pull it out of its normal radius and then /logout. It'll despawn and you have a random chance to pop a Mousse of a different level. | ||
62-63 | Wajaom Woodlands |
Worker Pephredo [62-64] |
Lesser Colibri [63-65] |
Camp at (I-7). With Empress Band and exp bonus from Sanction with Refresh, the experience rolls in extremely fast here, chain 4 is very common. Bees are very easy to convert to EM, but they do link on sight, try to charm one that is alone on one side of the hive to prevent links. Only the soldier bees aggro. Leeches and Marids do not aggro and bee pets don't have any AOE sic moves. The Colibris don't link or aggro, making this very safe and steady exp. Finish off a Colibri with Rampage and then immediately recharm your bee to keep it from despawning. Release it near the hive and charm another EM to keep the chains going. Source |
63-65 | Cape Teriggan |
Goblin Bandit |
Camp a little north of the outpost. Gobbies love exploding. | |
65-69 | Den of Rancor | Follow a party or go yourself past both Granite Doors in the Temple of Uggalepih to get to the Den of Rancor. This Allakhazam thread has an in-depth guide to the camp. | ||
66-67 | Attohwa Chasm |
Corse are 66-68, but they drop Iolite for money. Camp is on the western side. Watch out for cracks in the ground: Trench Antlion love popping up and surprising you. | ||
65-68 | Wajaom Woodlands(H-11)(H-12)(H-13) |
Aht Urhgan Attercop |
Puk [68-70] |
At 65 throw 2 bees at spiders. Puk's have fast attack rate and often spam fairly disruptive WS moves (one is AoE Flash, another is a 4 shadow Blink - this can be taken out with Diaga).For(H-11)Camp under the south stone arch near the water.Position yourself with your back to the stone arch or wall (or at the very least not in a position to get blown into an Ameretat (Ochu-type mob) by the Puk's knockback AoE damage move. For no chance of Ameretat encounters use camp at (H-12)-(H-13) Watch out for Haunt's At night. Source |
66-68 | Pso'Xja |
Enter Pso'Xja through (F-7) of Beaucedine Glacier. Cast Sneak and fall through either the (G-8) or (I-8) holes. In the (G-8) hole, charm Thousand Eyes and Dire Bats and fight Maledict Millstones and Dire Bats. In the (I-8) hole, charm Dire Bats and Snow Lizards and fight Diremite Assaulters, Dire Bats and Snow Lizards. | ||
67-70 | Uleguerand Range |
Go to the north open part of map. Take path from eastern tunnel, invis/sneak up. Walk west past ahriman and taurus enemies. fall through hole to lower tunnel network. There are two bomb and one bat spawns to the east of the drop point. Pull Bomb or Bat back to eastern tunnel - there will be a drop off to the original eastern tunnel for you to get more pets to finish off your prey. | ||
68-71 | Bhaflau Thickets |
The main map (from Al Zahbi or Aht Urhgan Whitegate) around the pond at G-7/G-8.
Wajaom Tiger from H-7 can also be used, if neccessary, but must be charmed using Light Staff. | ||
68-71 | Bhaflau Thickets |
The main map (from Al Zahbi or Aht Urhgan Whitegate) in the narrow passageway at F-6/F-7.
| ||
69-71 | Ifrit's Cauldron |
Find your way to the part of the map that looks like a reversed capital "E". There are 4 bat spawns here and 6 bomb spawns here. Bats will be 68-72, bombs will be 71-78. Bats are very easily charmed, even as T. They also don't last very long against the bombs. By level 69 you should know this, but remember to stay clear of Self-Destruct! 15 Minute respawn timer for the bombs. | ||
69-72 | Boyahda Tree |
For the best XP, fight with a trio of BSTs. You can duo here but it can be rough finishing off the mobs. | ||
69-73 | Caedarva Mire (J-8) |
At levels 69-70 Wild Karakul should be your primary pets. At level 71 use the Oil Slicks. With Karakul you will need to swap once per fight, so it is best to engage with your second pet only to avoid aggro on the swap. Oil Slicks will often survive the fight. At 73 some Jnun will spawn DC, but overall the camp still offers nice XP. |
Levels 71-75
Levels | Area | Pets | Prey | Additional Info |
---|---|---|---|---|
71-73 | Bibiki Bay |
Hobgoblin Fascinator |
There is a ledge with 4 Tragopan spawn locations early on. This is your zoo. Goblin levels are 72-75/76. Watch for competition from local parties. If in a duo, Catoblepas are an option. | |
72-74 | Aydeewa Subterrane |
They are in rooms around the pool used for the Blue Mage quest, An Empty Vessel. You should find this to be a low competition area close to the main city. | ||
72-75 | Ru'Aun Gardens |
Beastmaster heaven. Flamingo don't aggro, Sprinkler and Groundskeeper aggro only to magic. Nothing links. Watch out for Groundskeeper's "Meltdown" move. | ||
73-74 | Mount Zhayolm |
Camp at (L-8). Careful of Phasma at nighttime. Use Magmatic Eruca vs Sicklemoon Jagil. You'll get a variety of pops anywhere from DC Eruca to T Eruca. Try to convert the nearby 2 Eruca to DC or EM before chaining. One Eruca will be plenty for a Jagil. Easy chain 4, great camp until 74. | ||
75 | Boyahda Tree |
Call it "Farming with XP on the side". Camp is under the waterfall to Cloister of Storms. An EM Korrigan should tear through any of the Goobues at this level. |
