1. (Upper Jeuno) When job Lv71+ with axe skill Lv240+, talk to Brutus.
   • He will give you: Pick of Trials and the Weapon Training Guide (key item).
     • Brutus will not give you the Pick of Trials if you have another Trial Weapon in your possession.
   • Do not spam through the text. You have to choose the right answer, or he will not give you the quest and you will have to zone and speak to him again.
   • If the quest "Chocobo on the Loose!" is active, Brutus will only give out this quest after you have talked to him a second time.
     • Any Beastmaster quest involving Brutus, even AF3 quest, will make you unable to get this quest. Zone after completing these quests.
       • You can, however, do the BST AF weapon quest, retrieve the guiding bell, and return here and receive the Axe of Trials.
2. Make the latent disappear: use the Pick of Trials and accumulate 300 total weapon skill points.
   • You must perform Weapon Skills and/or Skillchains on monsters that con Easy Prey or higher.
     • You receive 5 points for opening/soloing a weaponskill, 7 points for closing a Lv.1 Skillchain, 9 points for closing a Lv.2 Skillchain and 11 points for closing a level 3 Skillchain.
       • Only applies to the weapon closing the skillchain.
   • Weapon Skills performed while under Level Sync will count.
   • Weapon Skills performed in Reives will count.
   • To see if you are done, check the equipment screen.
     • You are done if you no longer receive the status enhancements by the weapon's latent effect.
     • The text on the weapon will not change; only your physical stats.
3. {Upper Jeuno} Trade the latentless Pick of Trials back to Brutus.
   • He will take the weapon and give Map to the Annals of Truth (key item) and tell you to head to Temple of Uggalepih.
4. {Yhoator Jungle} Enter the Temple of Uggalepih from point 1 on the Yhoator Jungle Map (not from Den of Rancor) and kill the NM.
   • {Uggalepih point 1} Turn North at the fork and exit to point 4. Re-enter the Uggalepih at point 5.
   • {Uggalepih point 5} Go to G-9. Click the ??? to spawn the NM Yallery Brown.
     • Note: Poison Potion recommended for this NM fight. AoE sleep (Slumber Powder) can be troublesome.
   • {Uggalepih} Once the NM is dead, re-examine the ??? to obtain the Annals of Truth (key item).
     • If you zone without re-examining the ??? you will have to fight the NM again.
5. {Upper Jeuno} Bring this key item back to Brutus for your reward.
   • Optional: If you have completed A New Dawn, examine the Merchant's Door at Lower Jeuno (G-11) for a cutscene.
