With axe strike, there is a pink and red swirl that is fairly indistinct.
Analysis
This is the second damage based WS after raging axe, but its not much of an improvement. It's a single hit which means that it will do more consistent damage, but unless you have a lot of TP, raging axe will usually still hit roughly the same or more damage. The one possible advantage is that the damage is more consistant, and also it falls under a different element for renkai if you happen to be in a group.
