Notes:
- Spawned by trading a Trophy Shield to the ??? at D-4 at the north end of the valley populated by Bathyal Gigas, around the corner and out of sight of the mobs.
- He can spawn in 2 versions, NQ and HQ just like T3 VNM!
- NQ has no shadow, no enspell effect and low Double Attack Rate. Does not drop the Key item but does have regular drops.
- HQ has a shadow, enspell and very high Double Attack Rate. Drops the Key Item.
- If you wipe he moves back to his spawn and begins to regen. Got it down to 50% before wiping and it regened to 70% then despawned. The ??? despawns after he is gone and doesn't come back until 5 minutes (roughly) later.
- Used Standard Gigas moves, Also had an Auto EnSpell effect. He strongly favors Grand Slam using it 3 times in rapid succession around 30%.
- The aforementioned effect could possibly be triggered by 2hr, our group did not notice any added damage until the NM was at 50% or lower.
- Head Butt has low rate of landing, Temporal Shift landed 100% Frypan and Tail Slap were ineffective.
- Has a high (90%) Double Attack rate.
- Appears to be highly resistant to elemental magic - MB'd Thunder IVs of less than 200 have been reported. Magical Stun seems to be easily resisted as well. Could have naturally high Lightning resistance.
- Possibly immune to Slow and Gravity - Slow II from multiple RDM missed every time. No apparent resistance to Blind or Paralyze, though paralyze proc rate is suspect.
- Grand Slam powerful enough to potentially one-shot any mages caught in the blast.
Hystorical background
Adamastor is the name of a giant in the portuguese epic Os Lusíadas, meant to represent the hardships inflicted by nature and geography that sea ship crews would face during difficult trips.
