Historique[]
The word 'Magus' stands indeed for magician- and wizard-likeness, but it could be that Square Enix named the Blue Mage Artifact Armor set after a certain Final Fantasy character. The Blue Mage had his debut in Final Fantasy V; this game had a job-system, but in Final Fantasy VI was a character, that was a Blue Mage; his name was Strago Magus (in the Japanese Version Stragus Magus), he was a very old talkative man. Since in Final Fantasy was the first Blue Mage with a name, it could be that Square Enix named the Blue Mage Artifact Armor set after his surname.
