Switched to night mode and see what you mean. Those tables have been hard-coded to those background colours instead of using a table class (default is class=ffxi-table in the header, though there are other styles). All we can do is fix them manually as we come across them by adding the class and deleting the colour overrides.
Hi Dravont. Glad you've found it useful!
Those two items were missing the 'icon id' parameter from their 'Item Statistics' template call. There will be a few hundred items across the site in the same situation, as I added the icon concept a good time after the item statistics template was created, so editors have had to add the line into items manually since then as they come across pages that are missing it (the icon id number can be found from the Item Index pages).
I've gone ahead and done that for those two you mention!
Drop a message in the general-ffxi text channel on the ffxiclopedia Discord if you want to find players to help you out!

I've modified that to put it in the right place under the lightning desynth. It was actually already in there, only the wrong code was used so it wasn't appearing. Have updated, thanks!
I feel the optimal solution is to bring the list off the Gobbie Mystery Box article and into a sub-page, just like I did with the 'obtained'/'not obtained' pages.
I've created the below page as a trial. It uses dpl to search through item pages and return all items that have the gobbiebox trade-in parameter that's not 'none', with the points values, and then displays it in a sortable table.
In order to add an item to the list, you just have to add the line to the Used In template on the item's page, save it, and then 'purge' (one of the options next to history, etc.) the list page to refresh it.
However, there is a singular problem at the moment, which is the code that runs the page returns a maximum of 400 results, and there are around 500-600 items you can trade in (that we've identified so far). I've asked Fandom if they can change the settings parameter to allow this.

Seems like you're perfectly correct: https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Diamond
Fixed. Thanks; there will be a few like that due to a change a while back in how maps were displayed.
That's incredibly odd. And you're not on a private server?
Good catch!
The terminology articles will remain, but I take the point that the link from an item's statistics section should pass to the Category page, so I have updated the template to do so.
The reason for the seeming pedantry is the nature of wikis; article pages should be about a thing and category pages should collect together a type of thing. Conflating the two has been done in a few places on this wiki historically, but the gradual category tree implementation is weeding them out.
Having said that, user function is the priority, so I hope the solution presented satisfies your personal usage!
I've created and implemented a navigation bar for Equipment (ie equippable gear) which I hope suits your and your friends' needs.
In doing so I've noticed that some of the category pages need a bit of work to bring them in line with each other, mainly as to what info other than gear lists are given (some of it belongs on associated skill pages), which I'll be getting to soon.
Just log in. The only ads you'll see are the Main Page and you can expand the width too.
This I can appreciate, and will provide a suitable solution shortly.
I'm happy to ensure information is presented in a useful way to users. If you would explain to me what makes that AH map useful to you, it would help me understand the best way to show that info.
The previous table wasn't suitable to appear on item category pages; referring to the weapons and armors specifically, the majority of the items in the category aren't listed on the AH due to being (Ex). And it feels intuitive that you'd look for eg Swords on the AH under Weapons > Swords without the need of a misplaced table on a wiki to tell you that. The only categories that may leave you scratching your head are Fishing Gear and Pet Items, which I'm happy to put specific notes on their category pages for.
I'm presuming I'm missing what you're using it for though. Perhaps our play styles are so different that it hasn't occurred to me. Would be interested to hear and provide a solution.
Each item page has an Auction House navigation line under its 'How to Obtain' section; that's not changed in forever.
I did make changes to some of the item category pages as I redesigned the category hierarchy a couple of months ago - a structure which should have been in-place since the start of the wiki, but the original admins weren't data-oriented enough to have understood why that was important... years later there are hundreds of categories and the necessary work became a time-consuming task which I only faced up to recently.
During that redesign, when I came across item category pages with the 'Auction House Navigation' table on it, I deleted it. It's useless info, and not even correct as e.g. Category:Swords contains all Weapons that are tagged [Sword] in their description, though half of them don't appear in that Auction House category because they're not available on the AH. This wasn't done arbitrarily; it was discussed and confirmed with other admins over the years.
Likewise, AH categories such as 'Misc. 2' are useless groupings for the wiki. It might contain upgrade items for a number of different events, and yet not all of them as some aren't listable on the AH.
I understand the importance of needing to know where to look on the AH for some items which aren't at all obvious, hence every individual item page having that How To Obtain AH line.
I hope that's a satisfactory explanation as to that change.
I'm sorry, it's not no. My best suggestion is that you create a list of useful shortcuts on your Userpage for Shadowreogn zones, the NPCs and quests/mission summary pages you're using a lot.
Significant design changes have been implemented to the wiki since 2015; collapsible sections, highlighted map tooltips, item tooltips, item icons, table formats and a lot more.
Fandom recently changed the skin, which broke some of our more complex/outdated coding, but I thought we'd fixed it all.
Can I take a look at the armour drop-down table you've mentioned? I don't know what you're referring to, exactly.
@Identitynothing I just switched back to Oasis to see what you meant. The table spacing is an issue I identified back when the switch happened and I notified Fandom. The background has always been static. What do you mean by theme?
@Xenofire I mean I've been using this site since 2006 and, the extra toolbar from the FandomDesktop aside, the only change this month was swapping the header out to a Voracious Resurgence image and having a plain black background instead of the previous fixed brown/orange chibi characters.
@NewDefect I'm at a loss as to why the cursor's not in-place; if Sly's comment on the other thread didn't solve the issue, can you let me know what browser you're on so I can try to replicate the problem.
@InquisitiveSpouse also, I've been using this site for 15 years and I didn't even know there were keyboard shortcuts, so I think you're more tech then me! :)
@InquisitiveSpouse But I feel bombarded with useless "Beauty." - I'm not a fan of form over function either; other than a change to the background of the page appearance should be pretty much the same, just with added functionality through the sidebar. If anything's looking different specifically, please lmk.
@ShiyoKozuki Presuming that you're logged in, the only ad you should see is on the Main Page. Under "My Preferences" first tab "User profile" scroll down to the "Appearance" section at the bottom and the "Ads" drop-down and choose the "Don't show all ads" option, then Save.
